The ULN2004 is a high-voltage, high-current Darlington transistor array designed for switching inductive loads. It consists of seven NPN Darlington pairs, each capable of sinking up to 500 mA. Each channel includes an integral flyback/clamp diode, which protects the device and the controlling logic circuit from voltage spikes when driving inductive loads like relays, solenoids, or stepper motors.
