Product Overview

The UC3853 is an 8-pin active power factor correction (PFC) preregulator chip designed to deliver high performance while minimizing external component count. It utilizes average current mode PWM control with integrated RMS line voltage compensation to significantly reduce input line current distortion. The IC features a precision multiplier/squarer/divider circuit, an overvoltage protection comparator, and a high-current clamped MOSFET gate driver. Additionally, its internal 75kHz oscillator can be synchronized to downstream converters via an external clock input.
