Overview
The TM1629A is a dedicated LED drive control circuit designed by Titan Micro Electronics. It integrates an MCU digital interface, data latches, and high-voltage LED drivers, making it ideal for high-end displays in home appliances like refrigerators, air conditioners, and home theater systems.

Pin Functions

DIO: Data input; accepts serial data on the rising edge of the clock, starting from the least significant bit.

STB: Chip select/strobe; used to initialize the serial interface. When STB is low, the first byte received is treated as a command.

CLK: Clock input; serial data is input on the rising edge.

SEG1–SEG16: Segment output pins (P-channel open-drain).

GRID1–GRID8: Grid (digit) output pins (N-channel open-drain).
Design Considerations

Output Polarity: The SEG pins are P-channel open-drain and must connect to the LED anodes. The GRID pins are N-channel open-drain and must connect to the LED cathodes; they cannot be reversed.

Noise Suppression: Place filtering capacitors for VDD and GND as close to the TM1629A chip as possible. Adding 100pF capacitors to the DIO, CLK, and STB lines helps reduce interference.

Voltage Requirements: Because blue LED displays have a forward voltage drop of approximately 3V, it is recommended to power the TM1629A with 5V.
