Product Overview

The CD4516B is a CMOS presettable binary up/down counter. It consists of four synchronously clocked flip-flops configured to provide binary counting. The device supports asynchronous resetting and synchronous presetting, allowing the counter to be initialized to any binary value present at the jam inputs. It is designed for synchronous cascading, allowing multiple stages to be connected by linking clock inputs in parallel and connecting the carry-out of a lower stage to the carry-in of the next.
