Product Overview

The CD4051BC is a digitally controlled, single 8-channel analog multiplexer and demultiplexer. Operating as a bidirectional analog switch, it features a low "ON" impedance and extremely low "OFF" leakage currents.

The chip utilizes three binary control inputs (A, B, and C) to select and turn "ON" 1 of 8 channels, connecting that specific input to the common output. Additionally, it features an active-HIGH Inhibit input terminal that overrides the binary controls, turning all channels "OFF" simultaneously when a logical "1" is applied. It is highly efficient, maintaining very low quiescent power dissipation across its entire supply voltage range regardless of the logic state of its control signals.
