Product Overview

The CD4040B is a high-voltage (20-volt rating) CMOS ripple-carry binary counter/divider. It is a 12-stage device where all counter stages are master-slave flip-flops. The counter advances one step on the negative transition of each input pulse. A high level applied to the RESET line clears the counter to its all-zeros state. The input-pulse line features Schmitt trigger action, allowing for the use of input signals with slow rise and fall times.
