Product Overview
The BDR6121H is a brushed DC motor driver IC. It is designed for motion control applications in products such as electronic locks, electric toothbrushes, toys, and other consumer goods that rely on low-voltage or battery power.
Core Specifications
-
Manufacturer: Shenzhen Bardeen Microelectronics Co., Ltd.
-
Package Type: SOP8 (150 MIL).
-
Operating Voltage (VDD): 2.2V to 7.5V (suitable for 2–4 AA or AAA batteries).
-
Output Current: Supports a DC peak current of 3A and a continuous current of 1.55A.
Features
-
Protection Functions: Includes built-in thermal protection with hysteresis (OTSD), overcurrent protection, and undervoltage protection.
-
Efficiency: Features a low output conduction resistance of approximately 0.45 ohms.
-
Control Interface: Uses a set of PWM (INA and INB) inputs for direction and speed control.
Application Logic
The motor direction and state are controlled via the INA and INB input pins as follows:
-
Stop (Standby): INA=L, INB=L (Output is High-Z).
-
Forward: INA=H, INB=L.
-
Reverse: INA=L, INB=H.
-
Brake: INA=H, INB=H.
Design Notes
-
Capacitor C1 must be placed as close as possible to the BDR6121H (less than 1cm).
-
Capacitor C2 must be soldered directly onto the motor.
