Product Overview

The 74LS96 is a 5-bit shift register designed for serial-to-parallel, serial-to-serial, and parallel-to-serial data operations. Composed of five master/slave flip-flops configured to perform right shifting, the stages change state on the LOW-to-HIGH transition of the clock. It supports asynchronous ones-transfer preset entry for parallel loading, an edge-triggered D-type serial input, and a buffered active-LOW master reset (clear) to clear all stages simultaneously.
