The 74HC4046A and 74HCT4046A are high-speed Si-gate CMOS phase-locked loop (PLL) devices with an integrated Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO). They are designed for applications requiring frequency synthesis, modulation, or signal synchronization, and offer a choice of three different phase comparators (PC1, PC2, and PC3) to suit various control requirements. The device features excellent VCO linearity and low frequency drift, and includes a VCO-Inhibit control for ON/OFF keying or low standby power consumption.
