Key Features and Specifications:
1. Battery Configuration:
 2S Configuration: This board is designed for a 2-cell lithium-ion (Li-ion)
battery pack connected in series (2S). In a 2S pack, the nominal voltage is
7.4V (3.7V per cell), and the fully charged voltage is 8.4V (4.2V per cell).
It is compatible with 18650 Li-ion cells, which are the standard cylindrical
lithium-ion cells used in a variety of battery-powered applications.
2. Maximum Current Rating:
The board is capable of handling a continuous discharge current of up to
20A. This makes it suitable for medium- to high-power applications that
require moderate current levels, such as small electric vehicles, power tools, or
DIY battery packs.
3. Overcharge, Overdischarge, and Overcurrent Protection:
Overcharge Protection: Prevents the cells from exceeding the maximum safe
voltage (4.2V per cell), which can damage the cells or lead to overheating.
Overdischarge Protection: Ensures that the voltage of each cell does not
drop below a safe level (typically 3.0V to 3.2V per cell), which could
Otherwise damage the cells and reduce their lifespan.
Overcurrent Protection: Limits the current drawn from the battery to prevent
excessive current flow, which can cause overheating or even failure of the
battery cells and protection board.
Short Circuit Protection: In the event of a short circuit, the protection board
will disconnect the battery to prevent damage to both the cells and the
connected devices.
4. Balance Charging:
The board supports balance charging, meaning it ensures both cells in the
battery pack charge evenly. Without balancing, the cells may charge at
different rates, which can lead to imbalanced voltage levels and reduce the
Overall performance and lifespan of the battery pack.
The board will monitor the voltage of each cell during charging and ensure
that the voltage remains balanced to protect the integrity of the cells.
5. Voltage Monitoring:
The protection board constantly monitors the voltage of each cell, ensuring the
individual cells are kept within safe operating ranges during both charging and
discharging.
If the voltage of any cell falls below the safe threshold (typically 3.0V), the
board will cut off the load to prevent overdischarge.
